The first time I heard about this I thought, Nah, cannot be, I ignored it.
Imagine this - someone came into your house - enslave you and your wife, rape your daughter, keep your best land and oblige you to pay taxes for him, ALL because he CAN (That was Colonialism in Africa!)!
After some centuries of bondage and humiliation, including forcing your sons to go fight for him in his two great wars in Europe, ALL for NOTHING, you ask him politely to give you the key of your own house and for him to behave (Decolonization was a fight against oppression!), he retorts demanding another fee - you should pay for the time he stayed (AH!).
Can you STOMACH this?
Apparently, some Africans "LEADERS" DO (all this after Haiti, where the French DID the same fuckery + the USA sanctions. Now racists use Haiti's poverty do sell the racist narrative that dark-skinned people cannot govern themselves - if you have a TV, you have heard it)!
