Hope It Is The Beginning Of The End Of The Right-Wing Fantasies. Good Rid!

Do you need to be an economist to figure this:
Paul Krugman:
Talk to German opinion leaders about the euro crisis, and they like to point out that their own economy was in the doldrums in the early years of the last decade but managed to recover. What they don’t like to acknowledge is that this recovery was driven by the emergence of a huge German trade surplus vis-à-vis other European countries — in particular, vis-à-vis the nations now in crisis — which were booming, and experiencing above-normal inflation, thanks to low interest rates.
Joseph E. Stiglitz´s After Austerity:
… Europe’s single-minded focus on austerity is a result of a misdiagnosis of its problems. Greece overspent, but Spain and Ireland had fiscal surpluses and low debt-to-GDP ratios before the crisis. Giving lectures about fiscal prudence is beside the point. Taking the lectures seriously – even adopting tight budget frameworks – can be counterproductive. …
Watching and reading from right-wing leaned or plain simple opportunist journalists/commentators reaction to Sarko demise is, i must admit pleasurable.
