Tunde Jegede

via XiomMusic

Tunde performs his original composition, Songs of the Eternal which is taken from his solo cello album, Testimony. This piece is inspired by the music of the riti/goje (African violin) which is one of the main influences in this piece. Tunde has transcribed onto the cello melodies and musical phrases that are drawn from the nomadic dessert traditions of Wassoulou music from the Sahel.

Available on Tunde Jegede's solo cello album, Testimony.

Tunde Jegede playing a kora solo of 'Alla La Ké' under a Baobab tree in Sanementereng, Gambia. This was filmed during the Living Legacies Archive Project, documenting a new generation of Griots in the Gambia and paying homage to the great griots of West Africa. Special thanks to Openvizor for supporting this initiative.

This music is available on his solo kora album, Heritage.
