"How can the stream be so clear? It's because of the fresh water of its source." This poem comes from the great thinker and philosopher Zhu Xi in China's Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279). It contains a profound philosophy that only with active and open-minded thinking and inclusiveness can one keep pace with the times and flow continuously. This philosophy has also been integrated into every aspect of China's development.

Giray Fidan, a sinologist from Türkiye, will take us to the birthplace of Zhu Xi - Sanming City, Fujian Province. Let us follow in his footsteps, starting from the clear waters and lush mountains, to embark on a journey to perceive today's China, and to appreciate the new charm of the thoughts from the classics.

Zhu Xi, a philosopher and administrator during China's Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), always cared deeply for the people while in office. His concept that "a nation is founded on its people" has left a lasting imprint on China's governance over time. This aligns with the pursuit of "striving toward the people's aspirations for a better life is our goal," emphasizing the people-oriented approach in today's China.

Giray Fidan, a sinologist from Türkiye, is set to embark on a new journey to explore social governance in China from a unique perspective, starting in Sanming City, the birthplace of Zhu Xi, in Fujian Province.
