CGTN America: China's 800 million milestone in poverty reduction



A landmark achievement by the Chinese government is drawing international recognition. A joint study by China’s Ministry of Finance, the Development Research Center of the State Council, and the World Bank found that nearly 800 million people were lifted out of poverty over four decades.

As leaders outline new policy priorities during the Two Sessions meetings, experts in the United States say there are lessons American lawmakers could learn from China’s long-term poverty-reduction strategy. CGTN’s Walter Morris reports.
