The Nigerian girl who is using coding to help fold clothes || BBC

They’ve only been coding for a year or two, but these Nigerian children are already using their skills to make daily tasks that little bit easier.
Twelve-year-old Fathia Abdullahi has used coding to build a clothes-folding robot.
Oluwatobiloba Nsikakabasi Owolola, who is also 12, has programmed a robot grabber that senses nearby objects and moves them.

If you are thinking of taking the plunge, go get the iBook. Even better, sign up as a developer, download Xcode and open the book as a playground from within Xcode. You’ll play as you learn. An incredibly fun experience.

daringfireballDOTnet’s John Gruber, the creator of Markdown and +:

I mentioned Hopscotch off-handedly during the latest episode of The Talk Show, while discussing iPad apps that allow you to program on the iPad itself. It’s really an amazing app — I recommend it wholeheartedly for anyone with kids, and quite frankly, it’s fun for adults too. I wouldn’t be surprised in the least to see Hopscotch win an Apple Design Award next week.
