Jonathan Djob Nkondo's acclaimed Instagram comic series "Futur Sauvage" is merged into a full length animated short. We were invited to help bring the jungle reverie to life with music and sound design. Watch the original Instagram series here: instagram.com/futursauvage/
APPROACH /
Musically we wanted to induce a dreamlike environment. Electroacoustic pads and tones reflect emotional content whilst organic percussive rhythms add momentum where necessary. We used a repetitive log drum loop to instill a meditative quality and echo the natural surroundings (this element was actually inspired by the music of Predator). Sound design looks to illustrate the living aspects of the story, from the native flora and fauna to the human protagnists. Much of the human voice work was acted and recorded here at BXFTYS.
