Particles: From the Emitter Up from Go Procedural on Vimeo.
No shelf tools allowed in this webinar! We will showcase a couple common effects being built from scratch. On the way, you will learn how to make repeating particle FX for games and use volumes to render out the cosmic radial explosion effect done in so many films. We will explore parameters that do not often get used and how to setup particles in Surface Operators before the first birthing even starts.
PySide tutorial: Animated push button pt3 from Marco Giordano on Vimeo.
This is the third and final part in the the animated push button series, in this third part we are going to sublcass our AnimationButton in order to implement a different behavior which allows us to play two different animations
I am not sure if that s the best way ever to have animations in pyqt/pyside, this is just the way I came up to have a flexible way to do so. I am open to comment and suggestions

A.R.T. Update #2 from Jeremy Ernst on Vimeo.
Unfortunately, through vacations and other work projects, there hasn't been as much progress on this as I would like, but here's where things are! If you're bored by going through code, and understanding the inner workings of everything, this video may not be for you ;)
Check out http://jeremyernst.com/devblog/ for more progress on the Animation and Rigging Toolkit!

The Finder’s tags feature, which debuted in Mavericks (OS X 10.9), can be quite useful. But if you prefer to use the keyboard instead of a mouse or trackpad, you may find it limiting. This video shows you how to take full advantage of tags without lifting your fingers from the keyboard.
Improving your 3D renders in Photoshop from FlippedNormals on Vimeo.
In this tutorial, we're going to take a look at how to improve your 3D renders drastically using simple techniques in Photoshop. Nearly everything you render from any 3D application will benefit from some post work in an application such as Photoshop, even if it's just simple color grading. By default, most renders are bland; they're missing contrast and the colors are usually far from perfect.
Useful tools:
- Brightness/Contrast
- Color Balance
- Black & White Layer for checking your values
- Brush tool
Photoshop is used here, as it really gives you a lot of control when it comes to the brush-engine. Applications such as Nuke and Fusion are amazing for post work too, and their color grading tools are far more advanced than Photoshop, but the brush tools here really makes it worth it.
We hope this tutorial sheds some light on the subject and will convince you to spend time really thinking about post work as a part of the project and an after-thought or regarding it as cheating.

Animating Pixel Art in Photoshop from Not Quite Black and White on Vimeo.
We’ve been following some development blogs over the last year or two, and while a lot of them are good at showing the creative journey, few actually teach you how to make a game. We’d never go as far as to say this blog will make you a master at coding in Unity, but we want it to be a resource for technical knowledge that we discover as well as being an insight into our creative process.
So here is the first tutorial video we have put together - drawing and animating pixel art in Photoshop. It’s probably something more like a demonstration rather than a tutorial, but feel free to let us know what could use more explaining if there’s something we gloss over, or if there’s something specific you want to know.
